Released a new series of quick installation slide mounted Air Casters that are easy to incorporate into steel frames or transporters for moving heavy loads in tight areas of manufacturing plants without
the use of fork trucks. Air Casters utilize Compliant Air Film Technology to float heavy fixtures or transporters on a 3 to 5 thousand film of air. Thus moving a 6,000 pound load requires an average of 24
pounds of effort, a task that can be accomplished by one person. The primary advantage of a slide mounted air caster is that even with a fully loaded steel frame or transporter the air caster element can be
quickly removed for inspection or replacement without lifting or jacking the structure, thus providing high availability. Another advantage of this new design is that it comes complete with the slide mounts,
air caster element, threaded air inlet and mounting plate that are literately bolted to a new or pre-existing frame. Installation is quick and easy.
In today’s competitive environment it is extremely important to increase capacity without having to expand the plant by adding new brick and mortar. Many companies don’t have the real estate to expand, while in
other cases it is expensive and time consuming to plan and implement major expansions. Therefore the use of air casters to float large loads makes sense because air casters provide omni or 4 directional
movements for transporting loads in tight or restrictive areas while eliminating the need for fork trucks. This allows companies to utilize existing plant space to increase capacity as well as decrease throughput times.
Air Casters are used extensively throughout the manufacturing industry and have many inherent advantages including precise positioning, omni or 4 directional steering, elimination of the need for fork trucks/overhead
cranes, gentle movement of sensitive loads, protection of the floor finish and low friction force that provide users with a quick return on investment. All that’s required is a source of plant air, a smooth sealed
concrete floor, a large load fitted with slide mounted air casters and some operator training.
