Aeris Corporation:
Aeris Corporation introduces a new line of industrial grade Air Casters designed to transport heavy machinery on a thin film of air from the shipping dock to
final lock down position. The new Air Casters, molded with high strength urethane, range in diameter from 12 to 48 inches and have load capacities from 2,400
to 96,000 pounds per caster. Rigging kits consist of four or six air caster load modules, the appropriate number of interconnecting hoses with quick
disconnects, a control station with independent pressure regulation and on/off ball valves. Thus, standard off the shelf kits offer the ability to move
heavy machinery up to 576,000 pounds. By linking several sets together much higher capacities can be achieved.
Each air caster is mounted to a light weight, easily transportable aluminum extrusion that is designed to be quickly inserted under a machine tool, heat
exchanger, transformer, injection mold machine, compressor, stamping press, printing press, or fixtures to name just a few examples. This assembly is called
a load module and includes an air caster element, aluminum extrusion base with an air inlet, scratch resistant Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Plastic
(UHMW-PE) landing pads and depending upon the diameter of the air caster the overall module height ranges from only 2 inches to a maximum of 2-11/16 inches.
Heavy machines all over the world are moved within modern plants via Air Casters because they are economical to purchase and provide advance features such
as omni-directional capability, reduced man-hours, no damage to the floor surface, safe to use and require only 3 to 5 pounds of effort per 1000 pounds of
load. Therefore a 40,000 pound machine on a smooth sealed level floor surface needs only 120 to 200 pounds of force to move it from point A to point B within
your facility. This force requirement is significantly less than using convention wheels.
